...I'm also a chocolate addict...
...cupcake addict...
...buttercream frosting addict...
Paula Deen just fed EVERY addiction that I have (...listed, there are a million more only few know), bless this woman's heart and her love for food. I came across her insane recipe for chocolate cupcakes with coffee cream filling, which now you have and to hold till death do you part ....but they'll probably go with you because these are HEAVENLY. This woman is all sorts of creative and her personality just makes me want to bake everything she has written a recipe for. If she had a recipe for deep fried butter sticks with Crisco frosting, I'd probably bake it...just sayin'.
I was in heaven yesterday between testing the homemade whipped cream to the filling to the frosting. It all just flowed together but I never would've thought that the cupcake would've turned out so damn good. It did.
I told you! |
Paula Deen has a tough crowd because of her love for the deep fried, butter and sugar but say what you will this woman is a machine in the kitchen. She opened up my mind to baking with sour cream and alcohol. It's the first time I have ever used sour cream in cupcakes but I am so happy I did. It made the batter fluffier and just brought it to another level with the richness of the chocolate. I couldn't find anything with ounces on it in the kitchen so what do I use? A bottle. Yes...a baby bottle. It did the job but had me questioning if the Kahlua from the recipe got me loopy. Google was down and my world went black without it so I went to the next best thing I could find, don't hate!
I substituted some ingredients and made my own whipped cream to add to the filling instead of boxed topping. I had a blast making them and sharing them with my family and this morning...force feeding them to my gym members. They just LOVE me for it. (sarcasm right there folks, incase you weren't sure)
Homemade whipped cream with melted chocolate
Gia shoved a whole half in her mouth which I know means business so I didn't put my fingers near her because she would have probably ate them. Grayer helped me frost the cucpakes but I couldn't catch a picture of the child scooping the frosting in his mouth by hand when I told him I was done with it and wasn't looking. Then there is the crazy eyed Hank, he was about to attack me when I sat down and tried the cupcake...calm yourself Hank.
Looks good! Coffee & chocolate pair well together. Btw, love the amped-up dancing Paula :)
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with both, Paula Deen definitely showed me the light and some dance moves. Thank you!!
